POD and superman.../video podcasts / new friends

By now, I'm sure you've heard P.O.D.'s "Lights Out" was chosen for the "Superman Returns"
commercials.  If you haven't seen it yet, we'd recommend the IMAX 3-D version.  Very cool.

Switchfoot, Skillet and Mercy Me--all with behind the scenes via their websites and itunes.

If you want to see how a record is created (okay, if only to make us cry when we "pirate" the songs...)
A) switchfoot video podcasts (download first itunes OR winpodder (mas maliit)) then copy and paste the RSS XML from the site to winpodder or itunes.
B) watch Skillet in studio over the web. these are LONG videos. They also have interviews with the wives and shots with their kids.
C) Be the first to listen to Mercyme's podcast called MOBCAST. Contains bootlegs, exclusive songs etc.

When we meet, I'll be giving out CDs containing these videos - for those na walang broadband/dsl connection.

If you like Jars of Clay and would like to have a FUN barkada at the same time, join us at

BarlowGirl Interview [Interviewed 5 06 2006]

MusicFaith.com's Exclusive

Fervent recording artist BarlowGirl has been on fire lately! We very recently got to ask them some questions about what they're about and various things that have been going on in Barlow land. Enjoy!

[Music Faith] First up, can you tell me about the "BarlowGirl" message, what do you strive fans will get out of your music/lyrics?
[BARLOWGIRL]   Our main message is don't conform to this world it is based on Romans 12:2
We want to challenge people to consider why they make choices and to really find out what is God's way for their life.

[Music Faith] Has all the attention from places like, Yahoo Music, surrounding BarlowGirl, helped or changed the way you've portrayed your message any differently than before?
[BARLOWGIRL]   No we decided that no matter what door God opens our message would stay the same. We have told people if they want a watered down message they need to find someone else. We fear God more than we fear man.

[Music Faith] I saw you earlier this year at my church, Crossroads Comm. in Vancouver, WA, on the RSJ tour. I felt kind of out of place, considering most of the crowd was younger girls. Do you think that a majority of guys avoid you, simply because you're an all female act?
[BARLOWGIRL]  We do get a lot of girls at our shows but there are a lot of guys who really support us
it is really annoying that people would say to a guy "you listen to chick bands"

It's even more annoying that guys would care what other people think. We want to not be known as a "good girl band" or "you're good for a girl." We want to be known as a good band.

[Music Faith] I found it interesting that you recently filmed a music video for "Never Alone" after you've already put out another album and you've filmed videos for songs off the newer album. What compelled you to come back to "Never Alone" and film the music video?
[BARLOWGIRL] First of all "Never Alone" is still the song more than any other that people talk to us about how much it touched them. We have always wanted to do a video of it

Warner Brothers who owns our label has some people who really believe in "Never Alone" and felt it has a message for mainstream. Plus our friend Eric Welch had a vision for the video and agreed to do the project. He is amazing.

[Music Faith] Did anything crazy happen on the set while filming?
[BARLOWGIRL]  Not crazy just strange we filmed at an old abandoned hospital in Nashville some of the buildings we over 100 yrs old so the scenes you see are shot inside and outside of the hospital. It was a little creepy.

[Music Faith] A while back Superchic[k] wrote a song about you; how did they find out about you and your message?
[BARLOWGIRL] We met at a concert in Wisconsin in 1999 at their first show and our first show. They saw our purity rings and started asking questions, we got along great and became friends 3 months later max called and said they had a song for us, they played it for us and we freaked out. It really encouraged us to stand stronger for purity.

[Music Faith] Another Journal Entry is going to be re-released with cool new songs and features August 29th. Do you have any plans for a new record after the re-release?
[BARLOWGIRL]  We are writing songs for a new CD that will be released in August of 07.

[Music Faith] What songs do you enjoy playing live?
[BARLOWGIRL]  All of them but especially Never Alone and Average Girl.

[Music Faith] Out of those who you've toured with, who do you like to tour with the most?
[BARLOWGIRL]  We liked all of them; Todd Agnew, TOBY MAC, MAtthew West, Starfield, Building 429, Stellar Kart, Kutless, David Nassar, Newsboys, Silars Bald, GRITZ, John Rueben. They all rock.

[Music Faith] Also in terms of touring; if you could pick anyone to tour with, that hasn't toured with you in the past, who would it be?

[BARLOWGIRL]  Jeremy Camp, David Crowder, Chris Tomlin, Bethany Dillon.

[Music Faith] Have you pulled any crazy jokes while on tour with any other bands?
[BARLOWGIRL] Yes but we can't really talk about it, it was one of those you had to be there to think it was funny.

[Music Faith] What do you do for fun? On the bus, at home etc.
[BARLOWGIRL] On the bus; watch movies, play hide and seek, play speed, scrabble. At home; hang out with the nieces and nephew, shop.

[Music Faith] Thanks for answering our questions! Do you have any last comments for the www.musicfaith.com viewers?
[BARLOWGIRL] Come see us in concert we would love to meet you.
